"BEYOND THE BELLY:  Transformational Belly Dance"

Going beyond nebulous "Bellydance" or generic "Middle Eastern" categories, this seminar puts all the skills, techniques and practices back into their cultural contexts.

Learn the sacred secrets every dancer needs to know about the Art of Belly Dance, manifesting  the amazing dancer that is inside you.   Some things you can only learn from human connection, the sacred secrets passed from teacher to student    Tahja's Technique is dancing from the Inside- Out.

Own your Magnificence:   Now is the time to learn how to access your own powerful feminine energy, to be part of the change so needed in the world.

“All that is important is this one moment in movement.   Make the moment important, vital, and worth living.   Do not let it slip away unnoticed and unused.”
― Martha Graham

“This dance magically inspires sensual transformation of the self. It is communication at the highest level, an instantaneous interpretation of music through the body, without words. This creates powerful connection and requires 100% presence of self. This deep level of listening to the self and others is desperately needed not only in dance, but in our world. It is a microcosm of a bigger picture, a much needed expansive expression of love, friendship, and emotion. This dance transcends all verbal language and speaks directly from the core. This is not a dance only of the body, but of the essence of who we are as human beings.

I am always inspired by the beauty that emanates from each of you as you tap into that part of the self that transcends the mere body, the ageless and timeless part of yourself that emerges when you dance.

I look forward to seeing you step into and claim the beautiful dancer that I know you are!” Tahja

Belly dance is a dance of instantaneous translation of music to the viewer. It conveys melody, rhythm, emotion, and lyrics all at once. This requires not only knowledge of dance movement, but also a keen sense of musicality and awareness of the cultures from which it comes. There are so many levels to this dance it can take decades to learn, but Tahja has it broken down into a 100 hour certification program, designed to make you not only an incredible and authentic performer, but also to convey a high level of artistry in your dance. Whether you want to teach, perform, or just for your own personal development, consider certification in one of the most complete belly dance certification programs available: the Tahja Technique of Middle Eastern Dance

Questions:

What if I have to miss a class?

Make-up classes will need to be scheduled as a private lesson. These can be shared if there are other participants who also missed the same date. Private lesson rates will apply for make-up sessions.

Do I have to take all 10 weekends, or can I attend just 1 weekend?

You can take as much or as little as you like. At the end of each 10 hours, you will have completed the level of the course you attended.

Can I skip a level?

As these classes are consecutive, it’s best to attend all of the previous level before proceeding to the next.
